Once, I lived by the river

I wake up to your simple song with each new morning
You sing me sleepward when the nighttime pulls me down...

I miss you, Hondo

So come and wrap your watery arms around me, river
And I'll forget that I ever loved another
You call me sweeter, hold me tighter, pull me under

And I miss your ice embrace within the desert

You're always changing
in the same soothing formations

Someday steps will follow words and I'll return.
